Japan's exports of oil products surged 79.2% to 4.64 million barrels over June 24-30, from 2.59 million barrels a week ago, data released by the Petroleum Association of Japan showed Wednesday.
Middle distillates exports were 3.69 million barrels in the week ended June 30, accounting for 79.7% of total oil product exports.
Jet fuel exports came in at 1.92 million barrels, nearly triple the 691,661 barrels shipped out a week ago, while gasoil exports jumped 81.8% to 1.58 million barrels.
Exports of A-fuel oil -- a blend of gasoil and fuel oil in a 90:10 ratio -- were 189,367 barrels, sharply higher than 6,598 barrels in the previous week.
High sulfur fuel oil exports were 937,613 barrels over June 24-30, up 9.8% from 854,201 barrels in the previous week.
Japan also exported 5,070 barrels of gasoline in the week ended June 30, down 82.8% from a week earlier.
Meanwhile, Japan imported 472,706 barrels of low sulfur fuel oil over June 24-30, down 29.5% from the week ago. Import data from the PAJ covers only fuel oil.
