Spain's largest oil company, Repsol, has bought a 50% stake in NEOL Biosolutions, a Spanish specialist in technology for the production of biofuels, the company said in a statement Thursday.
NEOL Biosolutions will work on micro-organism research to improve the development of bioprocesses to obtain advanced biofuels, Repsol said. It did not disclose financial details.
Neuron Bio, parent company of Granada-based NEOL Biosolutions is a traded biotechnology company which principally works in neuroprotective medicine to prevent diseases such as Alzheimer's.
