The average price of regular retail gasoline in the US declined 4 cents as of Monday for the second week in a row, to $3.714/gal, the Energy Information Administration said in its latest weekly survey.

The latest average was also 13.5 cents/gal lower than a year earlier, according to EIA.

All regions saw week-on-week declines, with the largest on the Gulf and East coasts, down 6.9 cents and 6.7 cents, respectively, according to the EIA. That decline brought the average price in the regions to $3.489/gal and $3.631/gal, respectively.

In the Midwest, the average price dropped 1.5 cents to $3.626/gal, while in the Rocky Mountains prices slipped just 0.08 cent/gal, to $3.754.

West Coast prices fell an average 1.3 cents, to $4.242/gal.

EIA each Monday publishes average US retail prices for all three grades of gasoline. The data is collected by telephone from a sample of 800 retail gasoline outlets. The reported price includes all taxes and is the pump price paid by a consumer as of 8 am Monday.
