Price trend
According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of cryolite in Henan remained stable in mid December. On December 20th, the average market price in Henan was 7,700 RMB/ton, which was the same as the average price of 7,700 RMB/ton on December 11th, a decrease of 0.32% compared to the beginning of the month.
Analysis review
In recent times, the cryolite market had remained stable, with upstream product prices falling and cryolite costs decreasing. However, raw material prices were still at a relatively high level, with cryolite enterprises mainly raising prices and downstream parties following up on demand. The market trading atmosphere was weak, and the market supply and demand were in a game, resulting in a stalemate in the cryolite market. As of December 20th, the ex factory quotation for cryolite in Shandong region was 7,000-8,600 RMB/ton; The ex factory quotation for cryolite in Henan region was between 7,000 and 8,700 RMB/ton.
The upstream fluorite market was weak and downward, with an average market price of 3,550 RMB/ton on December 20th, a decrease of 0.70% compared to the price of 3,575 RMB/ton on December 11th. The tight exploitation of upstream mines and the shortage of raw materials had limited the operation of fluorite enterprises. In addition, some manufacturers in the north had been affected by low temperature, rain, and snow weather, resulting in limited production. However, towards the end of the year, some small factories had engaged in low-priced inventory clearance, and on-site prices had slightly declined, weakening support for cryolite.
Market outlook
The upstream spot supply was tight, and the cost of cryolite enterprises still existed. Many manufacturers maintained low load operation of their equipment. Due to the influence of demand, the downward momentum of cryolite prices was significant, and manufacturers ere cautious. It is expected that the cryolite market will be consolidated to be weaker in the later stage. In the future, attention should be paid to upstream price changes and downstream follow-up.
