Sinopec Qingdao refinery is expected to refine 820,000mt of crude in March, with daily consumption 7.4% lower than the previous month, according to a refinery source.
The decline was mainly due to maintenance of a 2.9-mil-mt/yr fluid catalytic cracker, which conked out on Feb 27, the source said, adding the maintenance would last about 10 days.
Qingdao refinery plans to go into 45-day overall turnaround on Jun 20, when it would lift crude refining capacity by 10% to 11-mil mt per year, the source furthered.
Qingdao refinery, located in Qingdao City of Shandong Province, mainly refines mixture of Saudi heavy and light crude at 1:1 ratio. It is capable of producing Euro III gasoline and gasoil, most of which are supplied to Shandong and North China.
