Sinopec Wuhan Petrochemical set crude throughput target for March at 360,000mt, with daily consumption at 12,000mt, sharply down 19% on month, C1 learned from a refinery source.
The refinery started maintenance on its 400,000-mt/yr hydrogen unit on Feb 25, which would be completed in 20 days, about 15 days ahead of scheduled, the source said.
Wuhan Petrochemical processed 380,000mt of crude during February, 20,000mt less than planned, the source revealed.
The source also told C1 that Wuhan Petrochemical was able to produce Euro III vehicle-use gasoil at present, but it has yet to set production target for July when the government would popularize the fuel nationwide.
Wuhan Petrochemical, located in Wuhan City of Central China's Hubei Province, is one of the major Sinopec refineries alongside the Yangtze River. It is equipped with a 3.5-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit and a 5-mil-mt/yr CDU, but the former was temporarily idled due to insufficient ethylene production capacity.
