Russia produced 56.123 billion cubic meters of natural gas in April, down 1.9% year-on-year, according to preliminary data released by the energy ministry Wednesday.
Of the total, state-owned gas giant Gazprom produced 41.810 Bcm, down 5.2%, the ministry said.
Russia's gas exports dropped 21.8% on the year to 14.487 Bcm in April, while the country's own gas supply reduced by 9.3% to 35.463 Bcm.
The country's gas production totaled 241.266 Bcm in January through April, showing an increase of 0.6% year-on-year, the ministry said.
The country's coal production rose 4.2% year-on-year to 27.932 million mt in April, of which 12.406 million mt was exported, up 18% year-on-year.
Coal production totaled at 113.537 million mt in January through April, up 4.6% from the same period a year ago.
