Price trend
According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the vinyl cyanide market fluctuated slightly this week (5.1-5.15). As of May 15, the price of vinyl cyanide was 11,540 RMB/ton, down 0.17% from the price of 11,560 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The supply side of the domestic vinyl cyanide industry was still in a loose state, the downstream demand was stable, and the market offer was slightly adjusted. As of May 15, the vinyl cyanide market offer in East China was between 11,200 and 11,800 RMB/ton.
Analysis review
Since May, the price of raw material propylene has risen slightly, and the cost side had support. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of May 15, the domestic price of propylene was 8,576 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.93% from 8,414 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
The operating rate of the downstream ABS industry was around 90%, the operating rate of the acrylic fiber industry was around 70%, and the operating rate of the acrylamide industry was 60-70%. The demand for vinyl cyanide had a certain rigid support.
Due to the delayed restart of the early-stage maintenance equipment, the supply side of vinyl cyanide was relatively stable after entering May, which formed a certain foundation for the market, but with the restart of the equipment in the later period, the pressure on the supply side of vinyl cyanide will increase again.
Market outlook
The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that on the one hand, there is still pressure on the supply side, and downstream demand has stable support; on the other hand, the cost fluctuates slightly and has support for vinyl cyanide. It is expected that the price of vinyl cyanide will be stable with slight fluctuation in the later period.
