The US paraxylene contract for April has settled down 3.5 cents/lb ($77.16/mt) between one producer and its buyers at 78.5 cents/lb ($1,730/mt), the producer and a buyer confirmed Wednesday.
There was no settlement yet between BP and its customers, sources also said.
US participants had been expecting the contract to decrease as the PX contract had fallen in Asia and Europe. The Asia contract price on PX fell $65/mt to $1,585/mt in March while Europe's contract dropped Eur43/mt to Eur1,225/mt ($1,606/mt).
