PVC cargoes are beings re-exported out of China to other regions due to poor demand, market sources said Thursday.
"China demand is not so good with the Chinese government stopping all projects," a trader said on the sidelines of 25th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries, or Chinaplas, in Shanghai.
PVC cargoes are moving from China to other regions such as India, Turkey and Russia where buying interest is strong, the trader added.
China domestic prices were assessed flat week on week Wednesday, with ethylene-based PVC quoted at Yuan 6,900/mt, which equates to $867/mt on an import parity basis, and carbide-based PVC was assessed at Yuan 6,700/mt.
