Japan's export of oil products dropped 24.5% week on week to 2.15 million barrels over March 25-31, data released by the Petroleum Association of Japan showed Wednesday.
Middle distillates exports were 1.63 million barrels in the week ended March 31, accounting for 75.8% of total oil product exports.
Jet fuel exports came in at 997,066 barrels in the week to March 31, nearly three times higher than the 365,090 barrels a week ago.
Gasoil exports came in at 624,981 barrels in the week ended March 31, down 48.% from a week ago, while exports of A-fuel oil -- a blend of gasoil and fuel oil in a 90:10 ratio -- slumped 89% to 8,013 barrels.
High sulfur fuel oil exports slid 53.3% week on week to 514,881 barrels over March 25-31, while Japan exported 5,460 barrels of gasoline, up 2.6% from a week ago.
Meanwhile, Japan imported 1.094 million barrels of low sulfur fuel oil over March 25-31, up 93% from the previous week. Japan also imported 33,494 barrels of HSFO in the week to March 31, compared with none in the previous week. Import data from the PAJ covers only fuel oil.
