Asian benzene slipped $1/mt day on day March 21 to $1,176.50/mt FOB Korea, as crude oil and US benzene prices fell. Front month ICE Brent crude futures fell $0.07/barrel day on day to $124.45/b at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) March 21.
In the US, benzene fell to $1,234/mt FOB USG March 20. European benzene declined $6.50/mt over the same period to $1,180/mt CIF ARA. (See chart 1)
The FOB Korea toluene marker was assessed at $1,224.50/mt on March 21, down $1.50/mt from the day before as crude moved lower and bids stayed conservative.
The US price was stable March 20, remaining the highest price globally at $1,255/mt FO USG. The European toluene price was assessed March 20 at $1,208/mt FOB Rdam.
