Sinochem Industry has signed an agreement with Guangdong-based Zhuhai Port Co on construction of a 3-mil-cu-m tank farm for crude and oil products in combination in Gaolan port, Zhuhai Port announced on its website on Feb 25.
Both parties will also build a 300,000-DWT oil jetty and pipelines to connect related refineries in Guangdong, the agreement shows.
The agreement says feasibility report should be finished before the end of 2011, but it does not mention when this project will come under construction or the storage capacity for different products.
An officer with Sinochem confirmed on Feb 25 the intent to build the tank farm with Zhuhai Port.
Sinochem Industry, a subsidiary of Sinochem Group, has about 13-mil cu m of petrochemical storage capacity, with about 700,000 cu m in Gaolan port. The company is also equipped with jetties ranging from 3,000DWT to 300,000DWT.
