According to the data of SunSirs, the domestic SBR market declined slightly from April 12 to 16, with the price at the beginning of the week at 14,350 RMB/ ton, and the weekend price falling to 14208 RMB/ ton, and the overall price fell 0.99%.
Domestic SBR market declined slightly last week, and the manufacturer's offer was slightly lower. As of April 16, the factory price of Jihua butylene 1502, CNPC Northeast, was quoted at 14,000 RMB/ ton. Within the week, the trading offers were slightly adjusted, and the atmosphere was weaker than before. Overall, since April, the output of SBR has decreased compared with the previous period, and the supply side pressure is not big. Downstream procurement maintains rigid demand, and the overall market transaction is stable.
Last week, butadiene rose slightly after a sharp fall in the early stage, while styrene prices rose, and the cost side was still supported. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of April 16, the butadiene price was 6,696 RMB/ ton, up 2.90% from 6,507 RMB/ ton at the beginning of the week, down 14.80% from March 31, and the styrene price was 9,210 RMB/ ton, up 4.46% from 8,816 RMB/ ton at the beginning of the week.
Since the beginning of March, the price of natural rubber has been falling all the way. Downstream tire enterprises have purchased more from natural rubber, and the demand for styrene butadiene rubber has been suppressed. As of April 16, the price of natural rubber in China was 13,015 RMB/ ton, down 15.35% from the beginning of March, according to the SunSirs.
SunSirs analysts believe that although the lower price of natural rubber is bad for styrene butadiene, there is little pressure on the supply side of styrene butadiene rubber. In addition, crude oil rebounds and the support of cost side is stronger. It is expected that the price of SBR will stop falling and stabilize in the later period in China.
