Price trend
According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the chloroform market in Shandong has risen again since April, with the price at 3,750 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 4,050 RMB/ton at the end of the month. Since April, the overall price has risen by 8.00%.
Analysis review
Since April, the overall load of the methane chloride plant in Shandong has not changed much, and the pressure on the supply side is not large, which still supports chloroform. According to SunSirs, Jinling Dongying’s plant completed its maintenance at full load, Dongyue Chemical’s methane chloride plant was shut down on April 8 for maintenance, Jinmao Chemical’s methane chloride plant was shutting down, and Luxi Chemical’s construction was started near 90%.
Secondly, since April, the price of liquid chlorine has fallen sharply, and the price of methanol has fluctuated within a narrow range, and the cost is obviously negative. According to SunSirs, the mainstream ex-factory price of liquid chlorine for tank trucks in Shandong has dropped from about 2,100 RMB/ton at the end of March to about 1,700 RMB/ton on April 16; the price of methanol was 2,377 RMB/ton in early April and 2,390 RMB/ton as of April 16, with the highest price of 2,395 RMB/ton and the lowest price of 2,367 RMB/ton in half a month, the overall price fluctuated in a narrow range.
Finally, orders for downstream refrigerants were still sufficient in April, with steady start-ups , which had rigid support for the demand for chloroform.
Market outlook
Methane Chloride Data Analyst of SunSirs believes that although the cost of raw material prices has fallen significantly at present, the inventory pressure of chloroform production enterprises in Shandong is not large, and the downstream refrigerants still have rigid support for the price of chloroform. It is expected that the price of chloroform will remain high and strong in the future.
