US-based Eastman said Tuesday it will hike its prices for glycol ethers, ester solvents and ketones globally from March 1 or as contracts allow.
It attributed the rises to higher operating costs as raw material and energy costs increase.
Among its ester solvents, prices for n-butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate and isopropyl acetate will rise 22 cents/kg, while 2-EH acetate and n-propyl acetate will go up 11 cents/kg.
Eastman will raise the prices for glycol ether esters such as ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate and diethylene glycol monopropyl ether by 22 cents/kg and for ethylene glycol monopropyl ether and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether by 11 cents/kg.
Among its ketones, it will increase prices for methyl isobutyl ketone and diisobutyl ketone by 44 cents/kg.
Among its alcohols, Eastman said it would raise global prices for n-propyl alcohol by 11 cents/kg.
Eastman did not, however, provide the final prices of the products.
