Braskem's polyethylene and polypropylene offers to Mercosur (Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia) increased by $50/mt for the second half of February, a source said on Tuesday.
"The price increase is just a readjustment in order to be in line with the international offers in the area," said the company source.
After the hike, Brazil's polypropylene offers to Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia were heard at $1,700/mt CFR for homo raffia, injection and film, and at $1,800/mt CFR for co-polymer impact.
Polyethylene offers were at $1,800/mt CFR for LDPE film, $1,750/mt CFR for LLDPE butene, $1,700/mt CFR for HDPE film, $1,750/mt CFR for HDPE injection, and at $1,730/mt CFR for HDPE blow molding.
Asian offers to South America were heard $80-190/mt below the Brazilian ones at $1,560/mt CFR for LLDPE butene, $1,570/mt CFR for LDPE film, $1,630/mt CFR for PP homo polymer and at $1,670/mt CFR for co-polymer.
Bids were heard at $1,530/mt CFR for LLDPE butene, $1,540/mt CFR for LDPE film and at $1,600/mt CFR for homo polymer.
