In St. Petersburg, Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller and Belarusian Energy Minister Viktar Karankevich signed a protocol defining the procedure for setting prices for natural gas supplies to Belarus in 2021, the press service of Gazprom reports.
The meeting in St. Petersburg, which resulted in the signing of a protocol on gas prices, was also attended by Belarusian Ambassador Uladzimir Syamashka.
The specific principle of gas price formation and its price was not announced. However, BelTA, with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, reports:
“The level of natural gas prices agreed by the parties for 2021 is almost at the level of 2020, but much lower than the one provided by the formula determining the natural gas price for Belarus, fixed in the intergovernmental agreement on natural gas pricing, signed in 2011.”
In 2020, the price of Russian natural gas for Belarus is $ 127 per 1,000 cubic meters.
