Guangdong minor refineries ran at 17% on average Thursday, up 5 percentage points from one week ago, versus 5% a year earlier, C1's research found.
Two minor refineries resumed operations in the past week, with the current throughput at 400mt and 1,000mt daily, respectively, according to refinery sources.
Five minor refineries were in operation at present, with feedstock throughput totaling 6,000mt per day, up 1,900mt from one week ago.
The run rates are expected to rise further in early March with more refineries back into operations.
Guangdong has 17 minor refineries, all of which are involved in C1's survey. Refining capacities of these refineries amount to 12.65-mil mt per year.
