Russian oil giant Rosneft posted a net loss of 64 billion rubles ($828 million) in the third quarter of 2020, the company said in its financial results statement released on Friday.
The decline was caused by the negative impact of market fluctuations associated with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, as well as the negative impact of non-monetary factors, it said in the statement.
The company's net income attributable to Rosneft shareholders during the previous quarter amounted to 43 billion rubles.
However, the company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization in the July-September period more than doubled to 366 billion rubles from 170 billion rubles during the prior quarter.
Rosneft's hydrocarbon production stood at 4.9 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (mboepd) in the third quarter, marking a 3% fall relative to the second quarter when 5.05 mboepd was produced.
