US crude oil imports in November rose to 8.874 million b/d, up 384,000 b/d, or 4.52%, over October, the US Department of Commerce said Friday.
November's import figure was up 278,000 b/d over November 2010.
Year-to-date imports though November were down 144,000 b/d to 9.118 million b/d compared with the same period in 2010.
Imports from OPEC-member countries in November were up 23,000 b/d to 3.893 million b/d from October, with the largest amount of imports coming from Saudi Arabia.
Imports from Saudi Arabia in November were up 328,000 b/d to 1.268 million b/d from October. Saudi imports made up 14.3% of total US imports in November and were 11.1% of total imports in October, the DOC said.
Year-to-date imports from Saudi Arabia through November were 1.169 million b/d
Crude oil imports from OPEC countries were 43.87% of total US imports in November, down from 45.58% in October.
Crude oil imports from Canada in November were up 160,000 b/d to 2.290 million b/d over October. Canadian imports in November made up 25.8% of all US crude imports, flat from 25.08% in October.
Refined product imports in November rose 332,000 b/d to 2.356 million b/d over October.
