The European Union has eliminated antidumping duties levied upon US vinyl acetate imports into the Union, effective immediately, the EU announced Thursday in its Official Journal.
The decision follows a withdrawal of UK Ineos Oxide's complaint on November 4.
The complaint was filed October 22, 2010, by Ineos Oxide, whose production represented 25% of the region's total vinyl acetate supply.
The commission launched an antidumping probe on December 4, 2010, and provisional antidumping duties were imposed for a period of six months starting August 17, 2011.
Those duties were set at 12.1% against US Celanese, 13% against LyondellBasell Acetyls and 13.8% against Dow Chemical and any other US vinyl acetate producers.
All provisional duties secured on the basis of the provisional decision will be refunded, the EU said.
