German chemicals distributor Brenntag said Monday it has acquired Amco Internacional SA, a Mexico-based supplier of specialty chemicals, for an undisclosed sum.
Amco, a family-owned business, is expected to book sales of $20.2 million in 2011, it said.
"The acquisition of Amco Internacional will strengthen Brenntag's position with a sophisticated portfolio of specialty products and services in the region," said Peter Staartjes, president of Brenntag for Latin America.
Ricardo Amper, Amco managing director, will continue to lead the Amco business following the acquisition, Brenntag said.
