South Korea purified terephthalic acid maker KP Chemical has restarted its No. 1 isophthalic acid line and No. 3 purified terephthalic acid line Wednesday after operations were briefly interrupted by a power failure in the Ulsan industrial hub Tuesday, a company source said.
The No. 1 IPA line has a capacity of 300,000 mt/year, while the No. 3 PTA line is able to produce 600,000 mt/year. KP Chemical also has a 350,000 mt/year No. 2 PTA line that was not interrupted by Tuesday's outage.
Operation rates at all three lines are said to be around 80-90%.
