Taiwan's state-owned CPC Corporation has launched a daily posted price for low sulfur fuel oil with maximum 0.5% sulfur on its website Wednesday.
The price of LSFO was listed at $489/mt Wednesday for sale at the five ports of Keelung, Taichung, Suao, Hualien and Kaohsiung.
The new CPC LSFO specification will be a maximum of 0.5% sulfur by mass, a maximum viscosity of 180 CST, with a flash point of 60 degrees, pour point of 30 degrees, and density of 0.991 kg/l.
In comparison, S&P Global Platts assessed FOB Singapore Marine Fuel 0.5% sulfur at $366.18/mt Wednesday as part of its worldwide launch of pricing assessments for the low sulfur fuel.
The launch of these assessments comes 12 months before the planned introduction of new sulfur limits in marine fuels by the International Maritime Organization from January 1, 2020.
On Thursday, CPC's listed price for LSFO was cited $10/mt lower day on day at $479/mt.
