US MTBE hit a two-year low Tuesday, falling in concert with its Northwest European counterpart, to be assessed at 170.77-170.87 cents/gal FOB USG.
On November 29, 2016, spot US MTBE was assessed at 160.90 cents/gal FOB USG.
Spot US MTBE -- which was assessed Tuesday by S&P Global Platts at an 11-cent premium to the FOB ARA marker -- slumped 8.93 cents day on day as the Northwest European market continued the downside for a fourth consecutive day on the back of weaker gasoline pricing.
The Northwest European spot price was assessed Tuesday at 159.750-159.89 cents/gal FOB ARA as FOB Rotterdam barge Eurobob ended the session at $466/mt, $26/mt lower day on day.
