Traded volumes on the APX-ENDEX gas spot market reached an all-time high in October with 17.82 TWh trades recorded over the month, the Anglo-Dutch exchange said Wednesday.
Record highs were heard on both the exchange's UK and Dutch spot markets. The APX-ENDEX Gas UK spot market experienced a record high of 15.37 TWh (525 million therms) traded volumes, almost all on the OCM market.
On the the Gas NL (TTF) spot market traded volumes reached 2.41 TWh for the month, of which 2.28 TWh was traded on the day-ahead market, while the within-day market saw another record monthly volume of 128.5 GWh traded.
A total of 35.84 GWh was traded on the Zeebrugge gas market, the exchange added.
APX-ENDEX TTF gas futures recorded a total of 26.26 TWh in October, down from 30.7 TWh in September, with 21.96 TWh traded on the exchange while 4.30 TWh was registered for clearing via the OTC clearing service.
In addition, the exchange confirmed that the next gas storage auctions will be held on November 29 and February 15.
The auctioning follows the model of two auctions held in April 2011 and will again have a total of 13,249,456 standard bundled units (SBU's) to be auctioned. The new contract year for the SBUs purchased in the two auctions is from April 1, 2012, until March 31, 2013.
