Soybean planting for the 2018-2019 crop has been completed in Center-West and Southeast regions and in Parana, Bahia and Rondonia states, analyst AgRural said Friday.
It estimated farmers have planted, as of Thursday, 96% of the country's total projected area of 35.9 million ha.
The pace represents 3-percentage point increase from last week and is slightly above last year's 95.5% and the 5-year average of 93%.
Although the sowing pace has been similar to the previous season, Brazil kicked off planting well ahead of the time, which should allow the world's largest soybean exporter to see new supply coming on stream as early as mid January.
AgRural added soybean planting is 95% finished in Rio Grande do Sul state, the third largest producer in Brazil.
Weather conditions have begun to raise flags in key producing areas: Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul states.
"Dry weather and high temperatures this week troubled farmers in those two states. Precipitation will remain low in coming days, but the good news is that temperatures will be milder," AgRural said.
The analyst projects Brazilian soybean production at 121.4 million mt in 2018-2019, 1.7% more than the previous season.
