Major Chinese benzene producer China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, or Sinopec, has lowered its domestic ex-tank price by Yuan 200/mt, a company source said Tuesday.
The list price for domestic East China benzene was reduced to Yuan 5,600/mt from Yuan 5,800/mt, the source said. The revised price equates to $681.46/mt on an import parity basis, based on an exchange rate of 6.9453.
Benzene was assessed at $655/mt CFR China Monday, down $19/mt from last Friday and down $58.50/mt week on week, S&P Global Platts data showed.
