Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical plans to refine 970,000mt of crude in November, with daily throughput up by 43% from the previous month as it completed turnarounds, a company source said.
Shanghai Petrochemical shut a 1-mil-mt/yr delayed coker for turnaround at the end of September and restarted the unit on Oct 22; it shut an 8-mil-mt/yr crude distillation unit for an month of turnaround from Sep 17, C1 reported earlier.
Sited in Shanghai, Shanghai Petrochemical has a crude processing capacity of 14-mil mt per year. It mainly processes imported crude from the Middle East and the West Africa. It mainly produces Euro III and Euro IV oil products. The company is expected to expand its comprehensive refining capacity to 16-mil mt per year by 2013.
