Sinopec sold 38.47-mil mt of oil products in the third quarter of 2011, up by 6.3% from the same quarter in 2010, according to Sinopec's report for the third quarter.
The company's retail sales volume increased by 13%, but its sales directly to industry-users dropped by 5.7% and its wholesale volume went down by 2.8%, the report showed.
The company has recently paid more attention to retail sales as they are more profitable and it reduced wholesale volumes. Its retail sales volume accounted for 66% of the total sales volume, thanks to a large number of petrol stations.
