Traded volume on the Singapore Exchange's coking coal futures was 800,000 mt in October, down 33% from September, according to SGX data Thursday.
Open interest for coking coal futures and options in September fell slightly, to average 1.9 million mt over the month, SGX said.
35,000 mt of put option contracts were cleared in October and open interest for options was 50,000 mt in positions for November and December, SGX data showed.
Over January-October, SGX traded 10.3 million mt of coking coal futures and 500,000 mt in options.
In October, the TSI Premium Hard Coking Coal FOB Australia index settled at an average $216.20/mt, up from $197.65/mt in September.
