Russia's crude supply to China has been resumed after a short halt caused by an earthquake, the Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft said late on Oct 14.
Technicians detected no damages in the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline, so Transneft resumed crude supply via the pipeline, according to Transneft.
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Russia's Amur region in the afternoon of Oct 14, leading to a halt of crude supply via the ESPO pipeline, C1 reported earlier.
The 15-mil-mt/yr ESPO oil pipeline has been running at full blast after it started commercial operation on Jan 1, 2011. It transmitted 11.0-12.5-mil mt of crude in total in the first nine months of this year.
Refineries refining Russia crude are mostly located in Northeast China, including PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical, PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical and PetroChina Harbin Petrochemical.
