UK day-ahead power prices rose over 10% as wind output halved day on day for Friday.
At 11:00 am London time, the base was at GBP55.50/MWh, up GBP5.10, or 10.12%, and its peak counterpart was at GBP59/MWh, up GBP5.50, or 10.28%.
National Grid's forecast for demand during peak times is 38.4 GW on Friday, down from Thursday's 40.1 GW.
Wind power generation during peak times is set to be 3.6 GW for Friday, down from 6 GW on Thursday, according to the grid.
Solar output for Friday was set to be at nearly 2 GW compared with 1.5 GW on Thursday, according to spotrenewables.com.
At 10:30-11:00 am London time, gas-fired generation was 21.2 GW, or 54.8% of the generation mix. Coal-fired generation was 1.6 GW, nuclear power was at 6.5 GW and wind in-feed was at 3.7 GW, according to National Grid.
The UK Met office is forecasting temperatures will be slightly higher on Friday at a high/low of 14/8 degrees Celsius than Thursday's 13/8 C.
