Maintenance works have begun at the UK's Braefoot Bay LPG marine terminal, with loading operations continuing as normal, a spokesman for Shell said Friday.
The LPG terminal, which ships both propane and butane for export from eastern Scotland, has two jetties, one owned by Shell and another by ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil wasn't immediately available for comment on the matter Friday.
The planned maintenance is expected to take a couple of weeks, during which the loading schedule will be uninterrupted, Shell said. The nature of the maintenance works was not specified, but they follow similar planned works that took place last September, Shell said.
Market sources had earlier reported that the works would be delayed until at least mid-month due to wintry weather across Northwest Europe in recent weeks.
