High and volatile raw material costs, and the strength of the euro against the dollar, are expected to provide the backdrop to business in 2018, according to French specialty chemicals producer Arkema on Thursday.
The company said that in 2018 it expects to benefit from its own innovation in advanced materials and from a globally robust intermediate chemical business. The growth of Bostik is also expected to continue in 2018.
In 2018 Arkema plans to continue the implementation of projects for specialty polyamides, thiochemicals, fluoropolymers and for its Sartomer division.
In 2017, Arkema's sales rose 10.5% year on year to Eur8.326 billion.
