Thermal coal stocks at Indian power plants totaled 13.3 million mt as of Wednesday, up 1.1% week on week and up 13.7% month on month, according to data published Friday by the Central Electricity Authority.
The stocks, which were down 36.4% year on year, were enough to support nine days power generation, the same as the previous week.
The number of plants at critical or supercritical stock levels was 14, unmoved week on week, although it was as high as 16 on Monday.
Stocks of imported coal fell to 325,000 mt, down 9.5% week on week.
