Ineos is to undergo a one-week outage at the bigger acrylonitrile unit at its Cologne facility in Germany in the second half of January, as well as a three-week turnaround in March at the smaller unit at the same site, a source close to the company said Tuesday.
The smaller unit has a capacity of 100,000 mt/year. The bigger unit has a capacity of 210,000 mt/year, and will go offline for repair and cleaning.
These outages are expected to add tightness to the European acrylonitrile market in the first quarter.
