Chlorine production in the EU, Norway and Switzerland rose 5.6% year on year to 823,530 mt in November, compared to 779,974 mt in November 2016, industry body EuroChlor said Wednesday.
Capacity utilization rates reached 83.8% in November 2017, the highest since July.
In November caustic soda stocks reached 231,332 mt, compared to 196,237 mt in November 2016 and at their highest level since March 2016.
Caustic soda stocks were lower year on year in each of the first 10 months of 2017 when compared with the corresponding month in 2016.
November 2017 was the first month of the year to reverse this trend.
Caustic soda prices in Europe remained at their highest level since 2009 in November 2017.
