Ineos Styrolution has nominated its European acrylonitrile butadiene styrene price for January at an increase of Eur50/mt ($60/mt) on rises in feedstock costs, according to an announcement on its company website.
The announcement follows the monthly contract price settlements for styrene and butadiene. The January styrene barge contract price was fully settled Wednesday at Eur1,265/mt, up Eur10/mt on the month.
The butadiene contract price was fully settled at Eur750/mt, up Eur50/mt on the month.
The acrylonitrile contract price typically settles at the end of the month.
But with butadiene and styrene comprising 76% of total feedstock costs, January costs are anticipated to increase.
Market activity remained subdued this week as market participants returned from the Christmas holiday break.
S&P Global Platts assessed the January ABS contract price at Eur1,825/mt FD NWE Wednesday, up Eur10/mt, tracking the rise in costs.
