Dow Chemical's Plaquemine LHC 3 steam cracker in Louisiana restarted Thursday after an unplanned outage, sources said Friday.
The steam cracker, which has the capacity to produce 1.03 million mt/year of ethylene, went offline in late November, but it was unclear what caused the outage, sources said.
A Dow spokesman did not respond to a request for comment Friday.
Spot US ethylene for prompt-month delivery was assessed unchanged at 27.25-27.75 cents/lb FD USG Thursday.
