Canada's Telson Resources has delivered its first shipment of zinc concentrate to Trafigura Mexico from the formerly mothballed Campo Morado mine in Mexico it recently acquired from Nyrstar, the company said Monday.
Five transport trucks carrying about 225 wet mt of zinc concentrate were delivered to a Trafigura warehouse in Manzanillo, Mexico, Telson said. An additional 575 mt of zinc concentrate and 250 mt of lead concentrate have been produced and are scheduled for shipping later this week, the company, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, said.
Since restarting operations at Campo Morado in Guerrero, Mexico, three weeks ago, Telson said the mill has been running around the clock. Between October 29 and November 5, the mill produced more than 800 mt of zinc concentrate and more than 250 mt of lead concentrate, the company added.
Telson completed the acquisition from Nyrstar in mid-June for a total cash consideration of $20 million.
According to Telson, Campo Morado has more than 45 million mt of measured resources, including zinc, lead, silver, gold and copper.
Campo Morado currently is producing at a rate of about 1,400 mt/day.
