Ineos Styrolution has nominated European November general purpose polystyrene prices down Eur70/mt on the month, a smaller decrease than that of styrene, according to an announcement on its website.
The styrene contract price was fully settled Thursday at Eur1,160/mt, down Eur90/mt on the month.
The latest nomination indicates Styrolution's bid to grow margins by Eur20/mt on the month.
Earlier in the week, GPPS sources said that they expected a pickup in demand in November as buyers had minimized orders in October in anticipation of a price decline. Spot activity had particularly been muted.
The surcharge for HIPS was nominated at Eur100/mt by Styrolution.
The GPPS net contract price was last assessed Wednesday at Eur1,380/mt FD NWE Wednesday, down Eur50/mt from the last week of October. HIPS was assessed at Eur1,470/mt FD NWE Wednesday, down Eur50/mt during the same period.
