Ascend Performance Materials plans to lift its force majeure on November 1 on acrylonitrile produced at its Chocolate Bayou facility located in Alvin, Texas, company spokeswoman Alison Jahn said Tuesday.
Separately, a source with knowledge of operations said Ascend "continues to raise acrylonitrile production and is close to full rates."
Ascend will likely be able to resume normal order shipments in November and run at normal rates at the company's downstream processes, the source said.
Ascend declared the force majeure in late August after ceasing operations due to Hurricane Harvey, the company had said in a statement.
The Chocolate Bayou facility has three acrylonitrile units -- AN 2, AN 3 and AN 7 -- with a combined production capacity of around 1 billion lb/year (454,000 mt/year).
