Turkey's imports of styrene in August rose 59% year on year to 28,076 mt, the highest monthly volume this year and supported by ample supply from Saudi and European producers, according to Turkstat data.
Deliveries from Saudi and Kuwait were 6,000 mt and 3,170 mt, respectively, while European producers also sold large quantities into Turkey.
Imports from Spain and France were registered at 11,164 mt and 6,750 mt, respectively.
Despite production tightening in Europe in June and into early July due to unexpected output issues, supply for the rest of July remained ample allowing for exports out of Europe.
Turkey is a net importer of styrene. Its exports totaled 505 mt in August, 1.6% higher year on year.
