Ferrovanadium prices slipped over the week as more sellers came into the market ready to take profit.
One European trader said sales for small lots had hit $48/kg a week ago and this week the latest offer was at $45/kg. "The seller said he is very biddable," the trader added.
Others said they were hearing a wide range for ferrovanadium from $43-$48/kg but had no interest in buying when the market looked to be softening.
A second European trader said he had bought at $42/kg for a back to back deal and expected prices to come off further.
A third European trader said that with ferrovanadium now below $45/kg, people were not looking to buy. "It's not finished, we can see below $40 soon," the trader said.
Platts assessed European ferrovanadium in Rotterdam at $42-45/kg Thursday, down from $44-46/kg a week earlier.
