Styrenics major Styrolution is expected to conduct maintenance works at one of its lines in Antwerp, Belgium, in the third quarter of this year, according to industry sources.
Styrolution was not immediately available to comment.
Sources said the catalyst change at one of the smaller lines at the Antwerp complex is expected to be conducted in September.
A catalyst change typically takes two to three weeks, according to industry sources.
Styrolution has 500,000 mt/year of styrene capacity in Antwerp, according to S&P Global Platts data.
Production at the company's downstream polystyrene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene units are not expected to be affected.
The loss in styrene production in Europe is expected to be offset by imports.
