Mexico's Economy Ministry has imposed provisional countervailing duties on imports of seamless steel tubes from South Korea, Spain, India and Ukraine, regardless of the country of origin, the ministry said Thursday.
Products subject to the duties are tubes with outside diameters of 2-16 inches, regardless of wall thickness, coating or steel grade, the ministry said in the country's official gazette.
The duties imposed were: $131.10/mt for imports from Iljin Steel Co. and other exporters from South Korea; $378.54/mt for imports from Tubos Industrial and other exporters from Spain; $206.70/mt for imports from India; and $170.11/mt for imports from Ukraine.
Mexican tubes and pipes producer Tamsa petitioned for the investigation.
