Enterprise Products Partners' propane dehydrogenation unit in Mont Belvieu, Texas, is expected to begin start-up operations in September and reach full rates in first-quarter 2018, a company official said Thursday.
"We expect a little bit of a shakedown in the fourth quarter, and really fully up and operationally at full rates in the first quarter next year," Executive Vice President Graham Bacon said in an earnings call.
Construction of the 750,000 mt/year PDH unit is complete and it is commissioning, CEO Jim Teague said.
Enterprise had expected propylene production at the PDH to begin in July, the company had said in March. All of the 750,000 mt (1.65 billion lb) of annual capacity at the unit is already under contract for an average of 15 years, it had said.
