Brazil's imports of rebar in May 2017 were zero, trade ministry data showed Tuesday.
In the same month a year ago, the country imported 21,508 mt of the product.
Considering the January-May period, imports of rebar into Brazil totaled 4,753 mt. This volume is a reduction of 81.4% year on year from 25,594 mt imported in the same period in 2016.
In monetary terms, these imports dropped 77.1% to $1.98 million FOB. Last year, total rebar imports in January-May were $8.67 million FOB.
